This morning, I attended an upper level grammar course. I really enjoyed seeing the interaction between the students, teacher, and the TA. It is also cool to see everything we learn in class in action. It puts it all in perspective and helps me visualize myself teaching a class. This class had students who spoke English very well and the teacher focused on a student centered approach. They went over their homework and interactively covered the topic of the day through conversation. It is so special to see a teacher calling each student by their name and using the Socratic teaching method, including everyone in the class. There was also a fun game led by the TA, which was utilized to practice grammar in use and have fun with the students. Overall, I really enjoyed the atmosphere in the class and hope to be able to motivate my future students as this professor did.
