Shanti CO#2

Today I observed group four speaking class at 1:00 pm. It was I chose this class because I wanted to see the difference between their speaking abilities and the lower levels. It was very interesting because the difference between their abilities was immense. The group four students could discuss very difficult topics that I don't even know if I could really talk about. The way she taught the class was also very interesting. I would like to model my class after hers. She allowed for a large amount of group work and discussion. The students seemed to really enjoy it. She also would take notes on their mistakes. I asked her what she planned to do with notes. She told me she would type them up and present them next class. I also was impressed with the amount of vocab the students knew. She would only have to ask them what a word meant and they would know right away. I wasn't sure if I even knew what some of the words meant. I noticed it the two classes I have observed that the teachers seem to be very friendly with the students, creating a safe comfortable environment for students to speak. I think this is very important because if the students don't feel comfortable then they won't speak. I was really impressed with her teaching methods.
