Shanti CP# 2

On Friday the 15th I had my first conversation partner meeting with Othman. He was very friendly and nice. He told me he was in group two and that he didn't speak English very often because all his friends are Arabic. Othman is 18 and from Kuwait. His English was very good and I could understand everything he said. I was surprised by how good his English was because when I met my partner from group four his English was just as good. I thought there would be a bigger difference in speaking ability. Othman told me a lot about his country and how different it was here. The main thing he told me that stuck out was about the rain. He told me that in Kuwait rain is very rare. On his first day here it rained and he thought that was amazing. He told me now though he doesn't like the rain because of the humidity it causes but before he thought it was great. He also told me that in Kuwait in the summer it sometimes would reach 140 degrees Fahrenheit. I was amazed that people could live in that kind of heat. Next time we are going to Panera because he has never been and it will allow us to speak for longer. I hope to hear more about his country and to talk about the differences between our countries.
