My
first tutoring session went really well. I tutored DJ from South Korea, who is
an adult in need of speaking and listening help via Skype. Coordinating the
session was interesting due to the 13 hour time difference but we found a time
that worked for both of us. Our first meeting was great, we got to know each
other and I kept accessing his needs. I found that he was a very good English speaker,
but he was a little shy and letting him speak about his studies, jobs, and
other passions brought down his filter. He opened up to me and I learned a lot
from our conversation. We will meet every week and I will guide the
conversation to different topics, in order to cover different vocabulary words
and see where he struggles the most.
