Katie TS #5

Today I tutored Matthew again. Today Matthew was not in a good mood at the beginning of the session and I could see that he was not going to be productive. To encourage him to participate I got off the topic of school and we talked about his field trip to Magic Kingdom. After that he was more open to doing work. Matthew had some math homework that his mom wanted us to go over so we did that first. After that we watched the trailer to Ender's Game because that is the book we are going to read next and I wanted to spark his interest in the topic. Matthew seemed really interested and said that he wanted to watch the movie but I said that he needs to read the book before he can watch the movie. Since the math problems took a long time Matthew only got through the first chapter of the book but he checked it out so we will continue to read it next week. After he finished the chapter we watched a short clip from the movie. Next session we will continue this book.
