Kane TS#4
On May 10th I met with P.J for our fourth tutoring session. For this session P.J and I went over some math comprehension questions that he had to redo in order to get credit for the assignment. The assignment consisted of word problems involving math. P.J had to read the problem and decide what function to use(add, subtract, multiply, divide). P.J is really smart when it comes to math and he knows all his multiplication tables. The biggest problem that I found was the P.J rushed through assignments too quick. When we would look at problems that he got wrong he would almost automatically know what he did wrong and how to fix it. This tutoring session was more of a guidance for P.J rather than an actual teaching session. I told P.J to take his time on his assignments and re-read/ check before he turns them in. I guess we will see if P.J took this advice to heart in the next session. So far, P.J and I have gotten relaxed around each other and spend less time talking about mine craft and Pokemon then we did in the first couple sessions. This makes it easy for me when I am trying to motivate P.J to read and do his assignments.
