Bria TS #3

During this tutoring session, my tutee wanted to learn about new verbs that go with a proposition, such as “hang up” and “hang out.” So, I taught him a few more verbs, such as “get off” and “get on.” I gave him some example sentences for each verb. My tutee also said that he has some problem with the past perfect continuous tense. In order to help him, I told him that this tense could be used for when you are doing something in the past and another action interrupts the first action. I also told him that since the sentence started with past tense, it would also end with past tense. I gave him some example sentences, such as “I had been studying outside when it started to rain.” I had my tutee make sentences using this verb tense in order to see if he understood the sentence structure and when to use this tense. At the end of the session, I told my tutee that if he needs help with any assignments, he should bring them so that I can help him with them.
