Catherine CP#2

This Monday, I met with Nasser for our second conversation partner meeting. We decided to meet at Madison Social for lunch. To my surprise, Nasser's cousin was visiting from South Carolina. They were both very nice and we all got along very well. I read Nasser's natal chart, and tried to explain the significance of horoscopes: sun, rising, and ascendant signs. Unfortunately, I think most of it went over his head, and instead we started talking about South Carolina. We discussed the racial politics of the South, and the different experiences we have encountered living in different parts of the United States. Throughout the United States, Arabs and other immigrants, face a lot of discrimination. Nasser's cousin described to us a time when he was denied service at a gas station in South Carolina. Although the topic was heavy, we still delighted in each other's company and the delicious food.
