Katie TS #2

Today I met with Mohammed and Ahmed at Starbucks. They are both from Saudi Arabia. Mohammad is from the capital city and Ahmed is from a city close to the beach. Mohammad said that he was to go to a University, not necessarily Florida State, for Law school. Ahmed said that he wants to go to school to become an audiologist, but can not go to FSU for this because FSU does not offer this for as a masters degree. They both said that they want the most help with listening and speaking. Today I held good conversations with both of them and learned about their background and why they came here. I told them that the best way to improve their listening skills is to listen to the radio and watch TV shows. Next time we meet I am going to bring a short clip of a TV show, maybe Friends, and then ask them questions about what happened during the clip. I think that this will improve their listening skills and the discussion after will give them practice speaking. Also this activity will get them used to doing this on their own.
