Lane CO #1
My first class observation was very enlightening and interesting. I attended Felicia Ciappetta's Group 1A Grammar class in room 311 on Monday at 9 AM. I got a chance to both watch her lesson (thereby learning how effortless and casual such teaching can be) as well as interacting with the students doing their grammar practices. I noticed how Ms. Felicia wrote her plan on the board before beginning. She also made a point to always hold onto "beautiful mistakes" in a positive way, making sure everyone learned from every learning opportunity that presented itself. By observing this class, I also got a greater sense of what the students' needs were and what their interests gravitated toward. I now have an increased respect for anyone studying the English language, because I have seen how difficult it can be. Still, as I have also seen, it is extremely possible.
