O'Neill CP#1

This Wednesday afternoon I met with my conversation partner Soufaini Kouanda. We met at CIES at 3pm. Since it was a beautiful day, I figured I would take him to Lake Ella. We had a pretty good conversation on our way. He was telling me about his country Burkina Faso in West Africa. He told me that there aren't as many freedoms there as there are in the US. He couldn't explain why very well. His English is limited, since he's only been in the US for 3 weeks, yet very good considering the amount of time he's been here. When we got to the park we talked about languages, Ebola, the differences in culture, among many subjects. Although it was overall an okay experience, he made a few inappropriate comments, so I've decided to get another conversation partner.

  1. My conversation partner from Burkina Faso and he is the most polite person. This is interesting because we talked about the same things our first meeting.
