Kane CO#2

For my second class room observation I observed Ms. Carnell’s group 2 listening class. This was my first class in which I observed group 2. Immediately when I walked in the room many of the students came up to me and introduced themselves. This was nice to see because in the foundations level class they had little knowledge. At times certain students were disrupting the class, but Ms. Carnell did a good job in getting their attention and making sure they weren’t distracted. For the lesson, the students listened to a lecture on GMO’s. The students had to listen to the lecture once and take notes. The second time the class listened to the lecture they were given a worksheet to fill out. First they had to fill out the risks of GMO’s. After they had written the risks down the class listened to the lecture again and took note of the benefits GMO’s. Ms. Carnell had good control of the class room and observed the students when they were working in groups on a dictocomp exercise. I enjoyed observing this class and getting to know some of the students that attend CIES. I look forward to my next class room observation.
