Kyle TS #9
I was a bit reluctant to see how Nayun would participate today because of her severe lack of interest in our last session. Much to my surprise, she was more than happy to talk to me about all kinds of things and even started her own conversations a few times. We were able to hold conversations without relating them directly to reading material and she communicated with me with some things about what she wanted to read for that day. We found a few activity books offered by the library and we used those to spark conversation. I wanted her to get some reading done, so I gave her a few minutes to find some of her favorite books and I had her pick some. We found a reading log that she can use from now on to write down all the books that we read together (as some days we read up to three books). Nayun was very invested in our lesson that day and we even went over our time limit and had to make her next tutor wait a few minutes. Oops! It's a little sad to know that we will only have a few lessons left, but she has taught me much in the ways of tutoring children.
