Miles CO#2

Tuesday June 2, 2015 -- The second class that I had the pleasure of observing was Angel Rios' Foundations listening class. There were only 4 students in the class, so the atmosphere was very relaxed and open. The topic of the class was simple past tense verbs. The students were given a list of simple present tense verbs and told to separate them into four categories based on the way the endings of the verb change - when changing from present to past tense; students were allowed to work as a group and use their books. Professor Rios included a vocabulary lesson in the class activity, consisting of the words diary, frustrated, exhausted, done, home-stay, and worried. After the activity, there was a class discussion where the students answered comprehension questions verbally and talked about the new vocabulary words. Professor Rios concluded the class by giving brief description of next weeks planned activity.
