Yesterday, I met with Ilbouldo outside of Strozier library. Ilbouldo wanted to practice his speaking skills so we sat there and talked about culture, family, and life. Ilbouldo told me that he is moving to New York next week and is very excited. He told me how his family does not approve and it is very difficult to travel and be accepted in his culture. I told him about my family as well and how they do not support my travels either. Our cultures are very different but also very similar in some ways. It was very nice sitting there and just speaking with him because we have never done that before, especially for so long. I got to see how much Ilbouldo has improved in his English, and I am very proud. I wished him the best for his future and told him that no matter where he goes in the world, he can always call me for English related questions. He will be attending an English school in New York to continue his education so I am sure he will still have many questions. I would still say he is a level 1 (maybe 2), but he is still so much better (and more confident) than before. I will miss tutoring him.
