Shanti TS#12
On Monday June 8 I tutored DJ. I began like usually asking how his weekend was. This lead us into a lone discussion about the MERS problem. He told me he had not left his house because he was afraid of MERS. He told me how the government said that it would be taken care of in a week but he does not believe them. He told me all about how the disease came to South Korea and how he was upset with the government for not doing anything about it sooner. We then talked about the differences between Korean flight passengers and American. DJ told me that when he went to Seattle nobody complained when the plane was delayed 2 hours. He told me that Koreans would get mad and they always had to serve food and refreshments while they waited for the plane. He was shocked that we do not do that here and everyone just accepts that the plane will be late. DJ is getting very good at expressing his feelings. He made one mistake where he said "they had not opened the names of the hospitals". I told him that the correct phrase would be "release the names of the hospitals". Other than that he made no word choice mistakes and no grammar mistakes. DJ had improved a lot since we first started and now really likes to talk about whatever pops into his mind. He talks for almost the entire time now. Overall it was a really good session.
