Kyle CP #3
Ebru and I decided to become conversation partners toward the end of the class. Her and I have basically already been conversation partners seeing as how her and I and Colleen were in the same group in class all semester. We've all really become close and friendly with each other. Ebru and I met for about an hour and a half at Starbucks and really just talked about the class, what we did and did not like about it, what we could improve on, etc. We shared a lot of the same opinions about it and we're both excited to start doing something with our certificate. Ebru showed me some pictures of her sons, one of them just graduated from the fifth grade and she had some graduation ceremony pictures that were just too cute. It's obvious that she really cares for her kids, she even said they are her best friends. We talked about her kids' names and how they have meanings in Arabic and it turns out that Ebru means art, and she showed me a video about the process of the ebru art, which in English means marble. The video and the process were incredibly interesting and overall we had a great conversation. She speaks English very well and is not afraid to commit any grammatical errors. Ebru and I will meet again soon, maybe with Colleen next time.
