Kane CP#4
This past weekend I met up with Kouanda. I wanted to take Kouanda out to eat so I picked him up and we ate. He doesn't eat out much so we had many places to choose from. There are many foods here in Tallahassee which he has never tried. I gave him a couple options on what was available and he chose Mexican. I love tacos, quesadillas, and burritos so Mexican was fine by me. Kouanda is still a little shy so it takes some encouragement to get him talking but once he starts talking he is very enjoyable. Kouanda ordered Fajitas and pronounced it with a hard j. I explained to him since it was in Spanish the j sounded like an h. He found this very amusing and continued to say fajitas multiple times. We were able to have some good conversations about Burkina Faso and life in America. He misses home dearly but still wants to stay in America. Kouanda was also looking for a new apartment near TCC. FSU doesn't accept his Bachelors degree from his country so Kouanda may have to spend a year at TCC before he can transfer to FSU. I drove him by some apartment complexes near TCC and had him write the names down so he wouldn't forget. After that I dropped Kouanda back at his apartment, we will meet up again, maybe this time for an American breakfast.
