O'Neill TS # 9
On June 7th, I met with Hamound at the All Saints cafe. Since his IELTS exam was coming up that weekend, we decided to focus on his weakest traits. I brought in a couple of readings I found on the IELTS online prep exams. The first one I brought focused on speaking skills. There were several questions that could possibly be asked for the oral exam asking the test taker to expand on subjects such as their hometown or what they do for fun. I prepared him to verbally expand on these subjects as we went over the questions. I was surprised that when he was placed in a test taking setting he experienced some difficulty than usual compared to ordinary conversation. I believe this is true since in an oral exam the student has to preform in an unrealistic setting. Realistically he would be conversing with someone, not talking into a microphone. I corrected him when needed, which was usually pronunciation and grammar. Overall he did pretty well.
