Shanti CP#6

Yesterday I had my last meeting with Kyu my conversation partner. We met at Starbucks. I asked him about the critical incidents and used the example Professor Kim told us about the Korean woman saying her daughter wasn't beautiful. He told me he had not experienced any but his friend did warn him about one. He was told that if he sees a baby or a small child he should not touch them without permission. For example when he is in Korea and he sees a baby it's okay to say "what a beautiful baby" and then touch it without asking. Whereas here you have to ask if you can touch. I told him that he definitely should ask because here people will be suspicious of you if you just start touching their children. After that we discussed the MERS problem in South Korea. He told me he was going to go back for a week in August but now he is not sure he is going to. He also wanted to know more about the app snapchat. I showed him how to use it but he still did not see the appeal that Americans love. Overall I had a really good time and am glad I was matched with him. I had a great time getting to know him.
