Wednesday May 20, 2015 - Today's tutoring session was began with an intensive grammar review. I gave Nedal a worksheet consisting of 13 questions dealing with adverbs, articles, verb tenses, and prepositions. I wanted him to complete this worksheet to give me a better understanding of any areas that he could improve upon. After Nedal completed the worksheet, we worked together to review the answers. In many ways, this lesson worked as a thorough diagnostic. Nedal showed some struggle with choosing whether or not to use an adjective or adverb as well as agreeing subjects with verbs.
Because we did not have a lot of time left in the session, I went over a short mini-lesson on the difference between adjectives and adverbs. Afterwards, Nedal had a clear understanding of how to use adjectives and adverbs correctly.
