Katie CP #6
Today I took Youssef to the farmer's market in downtown Tallahassee. It was really fun. The market had a substantial variety of products and all the venders were so nice. The venders were friendly and were easy to engage in conversation, but they didn't try to push their products on you. There was one vender who took old post office mail doors and built miniature safes from them. There was also another venter who made jewelry solely from pennies and other types of coins. My favorite was a guy that made pens. He said that he took a class and on the second day his teacher taught them how to make pens; ever since he has been making a business out of it. Youssef seemed to enjoy talking to the vendors and said that their products were very creative. We spent a good amount of time watching one lady paint a picture of a dog. I thought this was a good cultural experience for Youssef, as well as a good time.
