Alexandria TS #10

This evening, I tutored Abdulla. It was our first tutoring session, and I was glad when he reached out to me. I started asking him questions about himself, and was impressed with his English. I complimented him on his English speaking skills. He thought he needed to improve on his pronunciation though. We then discussed what he thought his weakness was, which was speaking and reading. He also wanted to expand his vocabulary. There are a lot of things that he wants to improve on, and I think it's great that he takes learning the language very serious. After we finished our discussion, I had him read a short article to see if it was too easy. He did not have any difficulties with it, and I decided that I should get a longer one with harder words. He also thought that it was simple, and did not understand a couple of words, which we went over. I plan on covering a lot the next time we meet, and look forward to helping him with his English. I want to find a longer article, or if not try to pick something to read from TOEFL.
