Alexandria TS #11

Yesterday, June 3, I tutored Abdullah. I started tutoring him by asking how school had been going? He said that it was okay, but that no one wants to do anything in school. Once we finished talking, we went over a couple of things we talked about last time. I made him a list of adjectives that he could use because he has some difficulties with it. He found it very helpful, and I e-mailed him a copy of it. Then we went over the verb tenses because he was confused last time, and I provided him a copy of the 12 verb tenses. After going over anything, I had Abdullah read the passage called "Hollywood: It's life & times." Before we started reading it I asked him what he knew about Hollywood, and why is it successful? He did not seem to know much, but that Hollywood was were movies were created. When we went through the passage he began to understand more about it. I asked him to summarize what he read to me, and he did a great job. Abdullah doesn't seem to struggle with reading as much, and worries about how his pronunciation is. In the end, we talked about how pronunciation isn't what he should be worried about. The next time we meet, I plan to go over writing skills because he wants to go over that.
