Bria TS #14

My tutee brought his friend along, so I ended up tutoring two people instead of one person. Both CIES students wanted to work on their speaking and listening skills. In order for them to practice these skills, I treated the tutoring session as if it was a conversation partner meeting but with some error corrections sparkled in. Since all of my tutees are either from the Kuwait or Saudi Arabia, I asked my tutee and his friend the same questions that I have asked my other tutees. Throughout the session, I taught them a few new words, such as tomboy, maternal, paternal. I also taught them some other words, such as addiction, workaholic, alcoholic, and chocoholic, because my tutee did not know what the word “addicted” meant. As a result, I ended up expanding on this word and coming up with a few examples sentences, such as “That man is addicted to alcohol. He is an alcoholic.” At the end of the session, I had some group tutoring experience under my belt.
