Carolina CP#5

On Friday afternoon, I met with Ebru at Starbucks to get to know each other and practice her speaking with her. Ebru is from Turkey and I enjoyed hearing her story behind learning English on her own, and moving back and forth between Turkey and the United States for the past 18 years.  I was very impressed by her story and how she ended up in Tallahassee. She told me about how she wants to get a masters in Statistics and a few of her ambitions if she is able to stay in the United States. I told her about the Turkish center in Tallahassee and potential opportunities to get masters funding in the United States through Fulbright. She was very interested in this information and became excited to learn about these programs. I will be sending her these links and I hope to meet with her once more before I leave town. I really enjoyed getting to know her.
