Today I met with Ahmed and Mohammed. Ahmed was running late because a soccer game went longer than he expected, so I began by just talking with Mohammed. This weekend Mohammed went to Universal Studios for the first time. He said he rode the Hulk and Dr. Dooms. We talked about Disney World and Disney Land and the difference between them. Mohammed said that maybe on his break from school he will go to Disney World. Once Ahmed showed up, we did a little bit of a schema building exercise with vocabulary before we watched the episode. We also did a quick review of some of the vocabulary that we discussed in previous sessions that showed up again in this weeks TV episode; specifically geek, hired, and bribe. The TV show that we watched was leverage. The vocabulary for this show is very good for their level and it has a range of different accents. We only watched half of the episode because it was divided into two parts. At the end of the session we reviewed the vocabulary again and discussed the main idea of the TV episode. Next session we will finish the rest of the episode.
