Today I tutored Nayun for the 5th time. I decided to try a new subject, the human body. Throughout our previous discussions and tutoring sessions, she tends to relate some things back to body parts. I haven't quite figured out why, but kids will be kids. I decided to delve deeper into different parts of the body and I found an anatomy book that is geared toward kids. I used a worksheet to help reinforce the words after we looked through the book and I used a lot of examples to try and help her understand what exactly (for example, a bone) it is. Unfortunately, this is the first day I've had an issue with keeping Nayun interested and occupied. From the second she showed up and sat down I could tell that she wasn't going to be very enthusiastic and I tried my best to provide interest and she did perk up a few times every once in awhile, but at the end of my lesson (after much verbal poking and prodding) we decided to end a few minutes early and I explained to her father that she just might be having an off-day. Luckily, this isn't the norm, and we will meet again next week.
