Shanti TS#10

On Monday June 1 at 1:00 pm I tutored David. His mother wanted him to do 4 pages of math and then read. It was difficult to get him to do the math homework but once I told him he wouldn't get any candy if he didn't finish then he immediately started working. The good thing about David is that now I don't have to give him candy until the end in order to get him to read. After the math homework we read 4 chapters of The Enormous Pearl Heart. He did very well and did not complain at all about reading. I told him we would only read 2 chapters and then I read the 3rd chapter. After I asked him if he would like to read one more chapter in the last 10 minutes we have left. I was surprised to hear him say he did want to read some more. I was very proud because normally he does not want to every read. David did very well and only have problems with pronouncing difficult words. One word that took him a while to grasp was "petunia". I had him repeat it over and over and then he finally was able to say it without any trouble. Overall David did extremely well and I was very proud.
